Sunday 28 December 2014

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Sunday night?

It looks like skies are likely to be mostly clear by or shortly after sunset, except for some jetstream-level cloud that could appear as cirrus during the evening, and lots of low-level moisture which is likely to move southeastward from southern Ontario by sunset but some of the moisture could cause some low-level clouds during the evening especially near Lake Ontario.

Sunday 21 December 2014

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Sunday night?

It looks like there will be a lot of low clouds caused by lots of low-level moisture below a subsidence inversion. Some regions may become partly clear, but more widespread low cloudiness is likely to remain near and north of the Toronto area.
Later in the evening or by early morning, the low cloudiness may diminish and leave partly clear skies over more regions than during the evening.

Saturday 20 December 2014

Will skies be clear Saturday night over southern Ontario?

Mostly (or completely) cloudy skies are likely, due to a region of mid-level moisture moving across southern Ontario overnight, although breaks in the cloud may allow stars to be visible and to give the appearance of a partly clear sky from time to time.

Friday 19 December 2014

Will skies be clear Friday night over southern Ontario?

It looks like skies will probably become clear over most regions of southern Ontario, except for near the GTA and regions between western Lake Ontario and Georgian Bay, where a region of mid-level moisture is expected to spread northward during the night. By early Saturday morning, the mid-level cloudiness may have moved out of skies over the GTA and be over regions near Lake Huron. Other regions may be mostly clear, but widespread low-level overcast cloudiness may persist over some regions due to moisture remaining below a widespread subsidence inversion.

Will skies be clear Sunday evening over southern Ontario?
Increasing high-level cloudiness over southern Ontario during the afternoon and evening  ought to cause mostly cloudy skies during the evening, except that skies may appear to be clear in some areas with breaks in the high cloud and with the very bright near-full moon shining and giving an impression of a clear sky.

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Thursday night?

It looks like mostly cloudy skies are expected ahead of an upper-level disturbance moving northeastward over SW Ontario overnight, except for some locations where skies may be partly clear during the early evening long enough for the bright, nearly full moon to be visible and give the impression of a partly clear night.

Wednesday 3 December 2014

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Wednesday night?

Skies are likely to be mostly clear by sunset, due to a strong high pressure ridge building eastward over the Great Lakes region, except for lots of low-level cloudiness south and east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay especially during the evening.

It looks like cloudiness ought to diminish during the evening and then skies ought to become mostly clear overnight.  The main exception is southwestern Ontario, where some mid to high-level cloudiness is forecast to gradually spread northeastward over southwestern Ontario during the night.
