Will skies be clear Saturday night over southern Ontario?

It looks like skies will remain mostly clear during the evening, except for increasing mid-level cloudiness spreading eastward over southern Ontario during the evening (illustrated below), which may or may not be visible as cloudiness. Then, it looks like the increasing moisture will cause skies to become overcast by around midnight (several hours earlier in western regions and several hours later in eastern parts of southern Ontario).

Continuing clear skies are expected from Friday afternoon through overnight into Saturday. There is some moisture at mid-levels (500 hPa level) that might occasionally appear as thin clouds, but most observers are likely to see clear skies.

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Thursday night?

Most regions of southern Ontario (except for northernmost regions close to Lake Huron and Georgian Bay) will most likely be under cloudiness until after midnight, due to the cloud shield extending northward over Lake Erie and southern Ontario during Thursday afternoon and evening (illustrated below in the forecast chart for mid-level moisture) that is forecast to move east from southern Ontario after midnight.

It looks like increasing cloudiness will be spreading eastward over southern Ontario during the night, so that westernmost regions may be cloudy earlier during the evening and easternmost regions may be under mostly clear skies during most of the evening. Increasing mid-level moisture (illustrated below) may be visible as increasing patches of cloudiness.

Clearing skies are expected during twilight as low-level moisture moves southward from southern Ontario during the several hours after sunset (illustrated below), and then skies ought to be clear by mid-evening and overnight.

It looks like skies will be mostly cloudy by sunset, except for easternmost regions of southern Ontario where skies might appear to be mostly clear for an hour or 2 following sunset, but increasing high cloudiness (caused by the high-level moisture illustrated below) may appear as thin cloudiness covering most of the sky until thicker cloud moves across most regions by mid-evening.

It looks like the high pressure ridge that is spreading over the Great Lakes region will cause mostly clear skies overnight, except for some low-level moisture over some regions that will probably appear as low clouds during early evening in some locations in SW Ontario as well as east of the Toronto area.

Partly clear skies over parts of southern Ontario during the first few hours after sunset in some areas may cause skies to become mostly clear for occasional periods and mostly cloudy during other periods, with some clouds forming mainly from low-level moisture (illustrated below). After mid-evening, increasing cloudiness is likely to cause overcast skies.

It looks like mostly cloudy skies are likely by the end of twilight, due to increasing high cloudiness moving eastward across southern Ontario (illustrated below), except that there may be enough breaks in the high cloud to allow Jupiter and the brighter stars to occasionally give the impression of a clear sky.
