Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Friday night?
Partly or mostly clear skies are likely over southwestern regions, following some cloudiness during the evening, while mostly cloudy skies are expected over most other regions, caused by widespread low-level moisture, except that skies could occasionally become partly or mostly clear over regions where gaps develop in the moisture, especially before morning.

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Tuesday night?

Mostly cloudy skies are expected, mainly due to widespread jetstream-level moisture over southern Ontario overnight (illustrated below for late evening) as well as some low-level moisture over some regions, except that partly clear skies may develop over some southwestern regions where gaps in the high cloud could allow skies to occasionally become partly or mostly clear.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected during the evening, due to lots of low-level moisture (illustrated below for early evening) as well as lots of jetstream-level moisture causing high cloud overnight, followed by clearing skies later in the evening (except for the widespread high cloud remaining over most regions overnight).

Mostly clear skies are likely during some of the evening over some regions near Lake Erie and western Lake Ontario where atmospheric moisture diminishes (illustrated below for mid-level moisture). Otherwise, lots of low and mid-level moisture is likely to cause mostly cloudy skies.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected, due to lots of high clouds, but skies may become mostly clear for several hours during late evening and around midnight over regions north of Lake Erie where mid and high-level moisture diminishes before increasing again before morning (illustrated in the total cloud cover chart shown below).

Less cloudiness is likely later in the night as winds back to southwesterly and lake-effect cloudiness diminishes over regions south of the lakes.
