Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Wednesday night?

It looks like skies will have high-level clouds during the early evening, at least over regions near Lakes Erie and Ontario, and possibly over most regions of southern Ontario, due to a jetstream over southern Ontario (illustrated below over North America) and moisture along the jet especially over southern Ontario (illustrated below for early evening). Moisture may diminish overnight but may continue to cause visible high clouds over some or most regions.

Monday 28 September 2015

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Monday night?

It looks like lots of moisture will be present to cause at least partly cloudy skies, but breaks in the clouds may allow skies to appear partly clear especially during the early evening. Low and mid-level moisture is forecast to be least during early evening (mid-level moisture illustrated below for 700 hPa level) but jetstream-level moisture will most likely cause high thin clouds that will probably be easily visible in the bright Harvest moonlight.

Sunday 27 September 2015

Will skies be clear Sunday night over southern Ontario?
Partly clear and partly cloudy is the best description, with mid-level moisture moving northward across southern Ontario (illustrated below) but enough clear breaks may occur over most regions to allow the full (and eclipsed) moon to be occasionally visible.

Saturday 26 September 2015

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Saturday night?
The northern edge of a region of jetstream-level moisture (illustrated below with the output chart from one forecast model) will most likely be the dividing line across southern Ontario between clear skies to the north, and partly cloudy skies to the south due to high thin cloudiness that will probably be easy to see in the bright moonlight.

Friday 25 September 2015

Will skies be clear Friday night over southern Ontario?

Skies will probably appear to be mostly clear, except for some high cloudiness over most regions, and especially southwestern regions, caused by jetstream-level moisture (illustrated below) that may be visible in the bright moonlight, as well as some mid-level cloudiness that may appear over eastern regions of southern Ontario during the evening, caused by some mid-level moisture (illustrated below) that is forecast to be near or east of the GTA.

Thursday 24 September 2015

Will skies be clear Thursday night over southern Ontario?

It looks like lots of jetstream-level moisture (illustrated below) will cause high cloudiness over all of southern Ontario, and thicker mid-level cloudiness will also move over many regions.

Wednesday 23 September 2015

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Wednesday night?

Mostly clear skies are expected, except for some scattered high-level clouds that could become visible, caused by mid-level moisture that is forecast to move over parts of southern Ontario overnight (illustrated below), and except for fog patches that may form over some regions before morning.

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Sunday night?

Saturday 19 September 2015

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Saturday night?

Skies are likely to be mostly clear by sunset and to gradually become more clear overnight. Some low-level clouds may be visible during the evening over some regions, due to low-level moisture (illustrated below) remaining over southern Ontario following passage of Saturday afternoon's cold front.

Clear skies are expected, except for increasing high-level cloud before sunrise over southwestern regions (illustrated below) ahead of Friday’s low pressure trough.

Wednesday 16 September 2015

Tuesday 15 September 2015

Will skies be clear Tuesday night over southern Ontario?

Mostly clear skies are expected, except for high, thin cloud (due to jetsream-level moisture, illustrated below) over most of southern Ontario that may be visible, and mid-level cloudiness during the early evening over southwestern regions (due to mid-level moisture moving northward over southwestern Ontario, illustrated below).

Monday 14 September 2015

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Monday night?

Clear skies are expected over most regions, due to a high pressure ridge and dry air aloft (illustrated below) except for increasing cloudiness over southwestern regions before morning caused by a region of moisture over the southern Great Lakes region.

Sunday 13 September 2015

Will skies be clear Sunday night over southern Ontario?

Skies are likely to be clear over most regions, except for evening cloudiness over regions near and east, north, and south of Lake Ontario, due to mid-level moisture circulating around a low pressure system moving eastward from eastern Ontario (illustrated below).

Tuesday 1 September 2015

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Tuesday night?

Cloudless skies are expected, except for fog and low stratus cloud formation before morning in some regions. A significant factor may be continuing wildfire smoke aloft (shown below in an analysis for Tuesday morning) that will probably be over most of southern Ontario during the evening and noticeably reduce transparency.
