Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Friday night?
Mostly clear skies are expected, except for some high-level clouds that might be visible occasionally, due to jetstream-level moisture and a strong jetstream which is forecast to be over southern Ontario overnight (illustrated below for late evening).

Will skies be clear over southern Ontario Thursday night?
Skies may be mostly clear during early evening over southern and eastern regions, but cloudiness ahead of a cold front is forecast to move eastward over southern Ontario overnight and so regions near Lake Ontario may remain reasonable clear during most of the evening, while regions near Lake Huron are likely to be mostly cloudy by sunset.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected, due to lots of mid-level moisture (illustrated below for late evening), except for regions near and north of the GTA, where skies are likely to be mostly clear for several hours during the evening as a gap in the moisture moves eastward across the area.

Partly clear skies are likely over most regions, except for some mid-level cloudiness remaining during the evening over and near regions where storms develop Monday afternoon, and except for some high cloudiness, and except for southwestern regions where mostly cloudy skies are likely. The high clouds over most other regions may not be visible through the haziness caused by some smoke aloft over parts of the Great Lakes region from distant wildfires.
